My name is Justin and I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Melbourne, Australia.
For over 10 years, I have been documenting people who believe in the story of love.
What does love mean to me?

Love is the beauty of imperfections.

Love is spontaneous, unpredictable and powerful.

Love is trust and believing in the dreams of your partner.

Love is traveling a journey together and finding new adventures everyday.

Love is staying up all night talking even though you both have
an early start in the morning.

Love is making a commitment to the one you love.

Love is getting married and writing your personal vows and promises to each other.

Love is a wedding day where trends and conventions are ignored. A day to create your own traditions and celebrate who you are in a way that’s meaningful to you.

Love is the connection of family life, the small details of every day, messages on the fridge, photos on the walls, tears and laughter around the kitchen table… Love is the deep bond we share long after our last breath.

Love is the joy of life!

What does love mean to you?…

So, here’s a little more about me

Photography has been a major part of my life since my early twenties and I’ve had many adventures with a camera in my hands…

Following my school years, I studied Communications in Media Journalism. After learning the basics of film photography with my amazing Dad, I started documenting my day to day life of assignments and friends, music festivals and skateboarding.

It was then I made the decision to pursue photography as a career. I got accepted into an Applied Science Photography degree at RMIT, and for the next few years I spent many nights either shooting film or studying a range of technical photographic applications and enjoying the solitude of long sessions of printing images in the darkroom…

My first job was at a local studio in Melbourne that had been in the same shop front for 35 years! I began my photographic training much like an apprentice. Digital camera technology was still in its infancy stage of R & D and smart phones were another 5 years away from mass consumption.

In the studio, it was my responsibility to organize the shooting and lighting gear, load & label film, pack bags, prepare client information and never get lost on the wedding day! As part of my mentorship, I learnt the finer aspects of master portraiture and wedding photojournalism. In due course, the studio invested in the top of the line professional digital cameras that at the time retailed for more than two mortgage repayments!

I then embarked on my journey as a freelance photographer shooting both weddings and music. Through a national blues magazine, I had the pleasure of photographing bands, gigs and festivals including the inaugural Pyramid Rock Festival and Byron Bay Bluesfest featuring REM & Bo Diddley and the 2.5 hour show stopper George Clinton & Parliament. Ask me sometime about meeting Peanut backstage, one of the many muso’s in the Funkadelic entourage.

In 2010 I launched my wedding photography business and I haven’t looked back since. I honestly cannot even fathom a guess as to how many weddings I’ve experienced over the last 10 years of my life. What I do know is that everyday I am very thankful that photography has given me the opportunity to document and share in people’s lives.

Speaking of sharing, I would love to know more about you so please grab a chair, have a seat at my kitchen table and make yourself at home. Feel free to dream with me and share your stories with me and let’s get the conversation started.
